#1 Zavur Uguev won his matchup at PWL 5 against two-time 61 KG European champion #12 Arsen Harutyunyan (ARM) 6-4. #2 Artem Gobaev won the Commonwealth Cup over #4 Ramiz Gamzatov 5-4. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #8 Ramazan Abdurakhimov and #10 Aryan Tyutrin (BLR). #3 Akhmed Idrisov returned to 61 kilograms where he won the Commonwealth Cup over #5 (61) Bashir Magomedov. Ever wrestler below the number three spot moved up one spot and allowed for the re-entry of Petr Kopylov into the rankings at #10. Notable results outside of the finals of the Commonwealth Cup were #2 Artem Gobaev beating #7 Ramazan Abdurakhimov 3-2 in the quarterfinals and #3 Ramiz Gamzatov’s pair of wins over #10 Aryan Tyutrin (BLR) and #5 Azamat Tuskaev in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.

#1 Abasgadzhi Magomedov won 12-2 in his match against #16 Emrah Ormanoglu (TUR) at PWL-5. #3 (57) Akhmed Idrisov returned to 61 kilograms and took gold at the Commonwealth Cup over #6 Bashir Magomedov by forfeit. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Andrey Bekrenev (BLR) and Chermen Tavitov. Notable results outside of the finals of the Commonwealth Cup included the return of two-time Russian Nationals medalist Chermen Tavitov at #7 in the rankings after taking bronze and the inclusion of Gadzhimagomed Gadzhiev at #8 in the rankings for his win over Russian Nationals bronze medalist #9 Dinislam Takhtarov in the qualification round.

  #2 Ibragim Ibragimov won his match at PWL-5 3-0 against European Champion Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM). 2022 Senior World champion #1 Rahman Amouzad (IRI) won the Commonwealth Cup by way of a 4-4 criteria victory over #5 Gadzhimurad Omarov. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Artur Badtiev and #12 Abdulmazhid Kudiev (TJK). #5 Gadzhimurad Omarov notched the best wins of the competition in the form of victories over past Russian National medalists #9 Aripgadzhi Abdulaev and #12 Abdulmazhid Kudiev (TJK) in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively. 2022 U-23 Russian Nationals champion #6 Dzhambulat Kizinov won his match at PWL-5 against two-time Junior World runner-up Ziraddin Bayramov (AZE) 6-0.

#3 Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity, as he has not competed since February at the Iranian Pro League where he beat #1 Evgheni Zherbaev. #5 Kurban Shiraev won the Commonwealth Cup with a 4-0 decision over #9 Konstantin Kaprynov. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #4 Aznaur Tavaev and #6 Zagir Shakhiev. #9 Konstantin Kaprynov moves up five spots in the rankings to #4 after avenging his loss from the Russian National quarterfinals to #4 Aznaur Tavaev in the Commonwealth Cup semifinals. #5 Kurban Shiraev moves up two spots to #3 for beating #4 Konstantin Kaprynov in the finals of the Commonwealth Cup.

#2 Razambek Zhamalov has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity from injuries he suffered to his shoulder and knee earlier this year in his PWL-4 match against Ilyas Bekbulatov (UZB). Everyone below the #2 spot moves up one spot because of Zhamalov’s removal from the rankings. #3 Timur Bizhoev won the Commonwealth Cup with a shocking upset over three-time World/Olympic champion #1 Zaurbek Sidakov 3-2. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Akhmed Nurakhmaev and #5 Anzor Zakuev. Sidakov keeps his top spot in spite of his loss to Bizhoev due to his multiple wins over Bizhoev and #2 Cherman Valiev. Akhmed Nurakhmaev joins the rankings at #10 for beating #6 Magomed Dibirgadzhiev in the quarterfinals. #4 David Baev beat Murad Kuramagomedov (HUN) 6-0 at PWL-5.

#2 Gadzhimurad Alikhmaev won the Commonwealth Cup over #4 Khalid Yakhiev. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Orkhan Abasov (AZE) and #6 Kasum Kasumov. Notable results outside of the finals were 2022 Russian National runner-up #7 Magomed Magomaev beating Russian Nationals bronze medalist #5 Akhmed Manilov in the round of 16. Magomaev injury defaulted out in his next match to Orkhan Abasov (AZE). Both Magomaev and #6 Kasum Kasumov move up one spot to #6 and #5 respectively based off Magomaev’s win over formerly fifth ranked Manilov and Kasumov’s win over Magomaev at Russian Nationals in June. The other notable result from the tournament was Mohamad Nasirkhaev upsetting Russian Nationals fifth place finisher #8 Abdulkerim Abdulaev in the quarterfinals to debut in the rankings at #8. Top ranked Ahmed Usmanov beat Akhmad Magamadov (NMK) 6-0 at PWL-5.

#3 Artur Naifonov avenged his semi finals loss from Russian Nationals to #2 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov to win the Commonwealth Cup. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Zaur Makiev and #14 Hadi Vafaipour (IRI). #3 Artur Naifonov takes back the top spot in the rankings for his victory over #2 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov, while Gadzhimagomedov drops two spots to #3 based off his losses to #1 Naifonov and #2 Arslan Bagaev. The only other ranked match that occurred was #1 Artur Naifonov beating #5 Malik Shavaev in the quarterfinals. Zaur Makiev is back in the rankings at #8 for taking bronze at the Commonwealth Cup over #9 Akhmed Bagavudinov. Akhmed Bagavudinov debuts in the rankings at #9 for beating Farid Jabbarov (AZE) who upset 2022 92 KG Russian Nationals bronze medalist Magomed Sharipov (BRN).

Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov won the Commonwealth Cup over #3 Alan Bagaev. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Omar Ziyautdinov over #2 Tazhudin Mukhtarov 10-1 and #11 Amirhossein Firouzpour (IRI) over #4 Ashkab Saadulaev. Notable results from the Commonwealth Cup include Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov’s victories over #2 Tazhudin Mukhtarov along with #3 Alan Bagaev’s victories over #4 Ashkab Saadulaev and #11 Amirhossein Firouzpour (IRI). Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov debuts in the 92 kilogram rankings at #2 for his victories over #2 Tazhudin Mukhtarov, #3 Alan Bagaev, and #5 Omar Ziyautdinov. Omar Ziyautdinov debuts in the rankings at #5 for beating #2 Tazhudin Mukhtarov for bronze, while Mukhtarov drops four spots to #6 for his losses to #2 Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov and #5 Omar Ziyautdinov. #1 Vladislav Valiev beat #2 Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov 5-0 at PWL-5.

#1 Abdulrashid Sadulaev took gold at the Commonwealth Cup by forfeit over teammate #10 Akhmed Tazhudinov (BRN). Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were #5 Shamil Musaev and Alexander Hushtyn (BLR). #3 Magomed Kurbanov beat Magomedgadzhi Nurov (NMK) 2-1 at PWL-5.

Anzor Khizriev won the Commonwealth Cup by forfeit over his brother #3 Zelimkhan Khizriev. Bronze medalists at the Commonwealth Cup were Khabib Davudgadzhiev and #7 Soslan Khinchagov. Khabib Davudgadzhiev is the biggest mover of the month, debuting in the rankings at #5 for his victories over national runner-up #2 Eric Dzhioev and #10 Khasan Khubaev to make the semis of the Commonwealth Cup where he lost to Anzor Khizriev. Anzor Khizriev is back in the rankings at #4 for beating #5 Khabib Davudgadzhiev in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Cup. 

Pound for Pound

#4 Razambek Zhamalov has been removed from the pound for pound rankings due to injuries suffered during his PWL-4 match against Ilyas Bekbulatov (UZB) that will sideline him for the rest of the year. #8 Cherman Valiev and #9 Timur Bizhoev both move up to #4 and #5 respectively based off Bizhoev’s victory over #3 Zaurbek Sidakov in the 74 KG Commonwealth Cup finals and Valiev’s victory over Bizhoev in the Russian National finals in June. #17 Artur Naifonov moves up six spots to #11 for avenging his loss to #13 Amanulla Gadzhimagomedov in the finals of 86 KG Commonwealth Cup. #20 Magomedrasul Gazimagomedov has been removed from the rankings due to inactivity. With the removal of Zhamalov and Gazimagomedov, Commonwealth Cup champions Kurban Shiraev (#3 at 70) and Gadzhimagomed Nazhmudinov (#2 at 92) take the #24 and #25 spots in the pound for pound rankings.
